The Muscovy Duck is the one domestic duck breed that is not derived from the Mallard. They are considered large, perching waterfowl. Muscovy are calm and quiet ducks, and drakes and hens often share nests and hatching duties between them. Muscovys love to eat flies and are often kept for natural insect control on farms and homesteads.

Muscovy are considered dual-purpose ducks. The meat from a Muscovy is 98% fat free, and not greasy like other duck meat, which makes it a  healthy meal option. Some say that the breast meat is similar to a sirloin steak.

Our flock of Muscovys is mostly white, with some dark spots on their head or body.
